There are many variety of products in Canaan Dead Sea series. Personally i'm using quite a few of the products currently. Well, like i mentioned, there are quite a lot of items and i've yet to try all of them. So i shall post my personal reviews on the products i'm using.

Face Mud Mask

This is one of my favourite! The packaging comes with a mini spoon (or applicator) to scoop out the mask. I'll usually transfer to my hands and apply on my face. This mask dries really quickly on your face. When i apply half of my face and wanted to touch up some areas, its dry already and i cant really touch up the mask. It's really amazing within 2 mins and even i want to put a lump of mud mask to touch up, i cant really do that. it just kind of wont stick on the face? When you use it, you'll know what i mean. LOL.

Anyway, drying up too much is not a disadvantage especially for lazy bumps like me. i don't really have to wait too long thinking what am i suppose to do when my mask is on. As per instructed, 2-3 mins will do. I can feel slight tingly feeling on my face. Perhaps its tightening my pores. Immediately after i've washed my face, i can really feel that my face are so soft and smooth. i'm not kidding or exaggerating. My colleagues who's using this mask also agrees. I've been faithfully using this at least once a week. I highly recommend this mask to people having normal to oily skin.

Mud Mask (Body)

When there's mud mask for face, surely there must be one for body too right? Thankfully there's really a mud mask for body where the results achieved are as good as the face mask! This product is really value for money especially those who loves DIY at home instead of splurging at spa salons. Each packet can last you for about 8-10 applications! It comes to about $3.30 each session? You dont have to fly to Israel or pay sky high price for the mud elsewhere. However, the process can be a little messy in your bathroom. How to apply? Rinse your body and just spread the mask all over your body. Do it when your body is damp but not too wet. You dont have to apply too thick.

"Apply evenly over entire body. Rinse off with lukewarm water after 8-15 minutes. Avoid bruised or infected skin." Well, 8-15mins can be a drag in the bathroom. What i usually do is to make use of this time to apply hair mask. hehe.. i like multitasking. Once your body starts to get dry, its time to rinse off the mask. I will still use my shower gel after this. Tah-dah! My skin feels smooth and radiant coz it's high in minerals and it effortlessly absorbs excess oils and dead skin cells.

Daily Silk Serum

For thirsty skin, this is for you. Just as the name sounds, silk serum. It makes my face soft and smooth. What i like about this serum, it absorbs quickly and it's light weight and have a light pleasant scent. It also gives you a glow on your face! The serum will hydrate my face without making my face oily.

Minerals
Minerals from the Dead Sea
There is a 30 % concentration of minerals in the waters of the Dead Sea compared with a 3% concentration of minerals found in other oceans. This high concentration makes a significant difference in the potency and healing of the skin with the help of cosmetics containing salts and minerals extracted from the Dead Sea.

What makes the minerals from the Dead Sea so vital to routine beauty treatments?
The minerals are chemical elements found in the earth which play a key role in all the systems of the human body: building bone, teeth, skin and hair which are essential for the ongoing, healthy functioning of the body.
The human body cannot produce these minerals on its own, and therefore must supplement them with foods, vitamins and various additives such as those offered in the "Canaan" line of cosmetics.
The mud and natural salts found at the basin of the Dead Sea depths are rich in minerals such as: sulfur, sodium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, potassium, and work wonders on facial skin.

Sulfur - anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, healing and absorbent.

Magnesium - 70% of the body's magnesium is found in the teeth and bones, and is essential for the development of healthy bones and teeth. It activates many enzymes and plays a key role in the changing of blood sugar into energy. Magnesium also helps to regulate the body's temperature and accelerates the metabolism of the body's cells.

Calcium - essential for the development and healthy functioning of the body. Calcium strengthens the cell's membrane and is an important component of the teeth and bones. It is essential for many of the metabolic processes.

Zinc - plays a major role in the functioning of more than 200 enzymes. The oxidization of zinc, because it soothes locally, is a widely used ingredient in many salves and creams used for the treatment of skin problems and hemorrhoids.

The minerals mentioned above are essential for adults, whose skin metabolism has depleted due to the diminishment of body minerals and waning renewal of cells over time. Therefore the body needs to supplement them with external reinforcements.

Plant Extracts- Active Ingredients in the CSE Complex™

The healing powers of plants have been known to man since time immemorial.
Up until 60 years ago, the source of almost all medicines recorded in medical books is from plants. Israel is blessed with more than 700 varieties of plants that have been documented that they contain medicinal healing qualities. Vita = life, as the name indicates. Vitamins are vital for the body and play a key role in the different bodily functions.

Due to their complex and varied roles, and the limitations of the body's ability to produce them all adequately, (due to illness, medications or aging), the body suffers from a vitamin deficit which can hurt or impair an internal bodily function or the external surface of the body- the skin.

At The "Canaan" Series of Chic Cosmetic Industries Ltd. we have concentrated on adding to our line of products three types of essential vitamins to the skin: vitamins A, C and E.

Vitamin A
An anti oxidant, essential for the neutralization of free radicals. Active and important for the regulation and cornification of the skin, encourages the production of new cells, protects the level of natural moisture and reduces wrinkles.

Vitamin C/ Absorbic Acid
Vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, the protein responsible for the protection of the cell's membrane and neutralizes free radicals.
Many studies show that vitamin C also strengthens the immune system. This vitamin has been known for years as a very effective anti oxidant. Scientists believe that it functions to prevent damage and even repair the skin from the sun's rays.
Even prophylactic use of products containing vitamin C helps to significantly improve damage to the skin and the skin's texture.

Vitamin E
This powerful anti oxidant protects the cell's membrane as well as other parts. It is found in the body's important glands such as the lobes of the brain and the sexual organs. It has a regulating effect in situations of stress and tiredness.
The use of cream containing vitamin E before exposure to the sun and up to 8 hours after exposure neutralizes, to a great extent, the damaging effects of free radicals on the skin. Vitamin E is also found to be soothing for sensitive and irritated skin.

Vitamin B
Vitamin B belongs to a group of eight different vitamins, which are often found together in the same foods. Vitamin B5 / Pantothenic acid: Within the vitamin B group, part of the coenzyme A. Helps release energy in the cells.

Oils found in Products

The use of oils in beauty and health treatments, has been known to man for over 6000 years from the time of the bible. It was used for religious ceremonies, embalming kings, healing and perfumes.

Plant based oils are beneficial for body, face and hair use. Plant oils are absorbed easily by the skin and leave it feeling soft. Commonly used plant oils in "Canaan's" products are: avocado oil, carrot oil, coconut oil, choc ova oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil and almond oil. Therefore, in the right proportion and mix, "Canaan" has successfully created a line of facial and body products which help treat a range of problems in a pleasing and soothing manner.

Avocado Oil
The oil is extracted directly from the fruit. It is rich in vitamins A and E. It is good for mixed, normal and dry skin types, lack luster, scaly and broken skin. It lends softness to the skin. It is recommended to use during pregnancy, to nourish the skin and prevent stretch marks.
Carrot Oil
This oil is extracted from the root and skin of the carrot. Rich in vitamin A. Effective and suitable for all skin types. It protects the skin from the damages of the sun, protects the cell's membrane, prevents micro-organisms from creating diseases, helps to heal mild sores and boosts the immune system.
Coconut Oil
The coconut comes from the coconut tree found in tropical climates. It is extracted from the inner lining of the pit and is particularly effective in the soothing of skin irritations and gives the skin radiance.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil has a high concentration of vitamin E, a well known anti-oxidant, nourishes the skin and protects its flexibility and moisture. It is recommended for dry and wrinkled skin.
Grape seed Oil
Contains a high concentration of essential oils which strengthen the skin's cells and protects them. Its light texture makes it easily absorbed and is used for soothing massage treatment and for added nourishment in moisturizing creams.
Sesame Oil
Rich in nourishing ingredients: vitamins E and B and minerals giving shine and radiance to the skin. It generates a warming effect and helps relieve tension, aches and pains of the muscles and joints.
Almond Oil
A widely used, well known oil, rich in vitamins and acids, preserves the vitality of the skin. It is a common additive to creams and body oils and suits all skin types. It is absorbed easily and makes the facial and body skin more flexible and lovely.
Evening Primrose Oil
Oil from the Night Candle plant is known as an important source of unsaturated fatty acid, especially Linoleic Acid which is essential for the formation of the cell's membrane, controls blood pressure and acts significantly as an anti-inflammatory. It helps keep the skin looking young, healthy and supple as well as helps to maintain the skins moisture, reducing dryness.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is considered the finest of all oils, containing Vitamin E , an anti-oxidant which help protect the body from free radicals, impedes the development of cancerous cells and the aging of the body's cells as well.

Additional Active Ingredients

The Aloe Vera Plant
This plant is widely regarded as a "medicinal plant", "plant that heals burns", "first aid plant" or a "miracle plant". Aloe Vera has been proven effective in healing various skin conditions: small pimples, soothes bites, cuts, burns, abrasions, acne, allergies, eczema and damaged skin.
Aloe Vera preserves the skins moisture, softness and suppleness.

Centella Asiatica
An Indian plant widely used in Indian medicine. This plant is a catalyst for the renewal of tissue for mending the skin and has anti-inflammatory effects. It is used externally to heal skin infections and to restore the skin.

Hamamelis
The leaves and bark of the Hamamelis bush, which grows in the United States and Canada, are used for medicinal purposes such as making the pores contract, sterilization and healing.

Alga Extrct –Dunaliella
This single celled alga belongs to the family of green algae. It grows in lukewarm salty waters and is found in the Dead Sea. Contains Vitamins B and E.

Shea Butter
Extracted from the Shea nut which grows in Desert terrains. This butter heals and cares for the skin of the body thanks to the variety of food groups it comprises.
Shea Butter is rich in vitamins, anti oxidants, proteins and carbohydrates which together function to activate the metabolism of the skin and renewal of cells.

Lactic Acid
Milk as its main source, it is found in cells that have metabolized. It preserves the inner moisture of the skin and gives it an improved supple look.

The most common plant oils used in the "Canaan" products are: Almond oil, Chochova Oil, Avocado Oil, Grape seed Oil, Carrot Oil, and Sesame Oil (see chapter on general active ingredients)

Aromatic Essences

Lavender
The calming fragrance of Lavender makes for a tranquil atmosphere. Its anti- inflammatory qualities make it a leading essence for different skin problems, infections and for first aid treating bruises. An outstanding advantage to Lavender is that it can be directly applied on the skin.
Mint
One of the most preferred oils. This essence is known to energetically open the sixth and seventh Chakras. Mint oil is known to heal and soothe rheumatic pains of different kinds and relieves the respiratory system by expanding the blood vessels. Mint oil is antiseptic, cooling while at the same time neutralizes odors.
Vanilla
An essence that disseminates a pleasant and calming scent, good for reducing temperature and stimulates sexual desire.
Mango
An exotic essence, enriched with iron, vitamin A and vitamin C. Effective in strengthening the body's immune system.
Peach
Contains a high concentration of fatty acids, which make it an effective ingredient for softening and nourishing the skin. It is also rich in potassium and vitamin A.
Rose
The rose flower is a rich source for vitamin C, and its scent is known and recognized for its romantic appeal, calming and refreshing. It has enormous emotional positive influence, relaxes and relieves pressure, perfect for skin care.
